    This course is derived from National Industry Competency Standards for the Forestry Sector of the Forest Industries Training Package. Suitable for general forest and emergency services personnel such as CFA and SES clearing fallen trees and branches. It is designed to increase skills in operating chainsaws safely and efficiently in a variety of common work situations. This course does not cover tree falling. 5 - 6 participants per instructor. Note: The emphasis of this course can be varied to cover a wide variety of work situations e.g. wind blown trees, log yard operations, firewood cutting, etc.

  • This course is the required competency to achieve accreditation as a chainsaw operator under the Timber Harvesting Operator’s Licence (THOL).
