This course takes the participant through initial understanding and practice of drying operations through to advanced aspects such as schedule monitoring and development. Through a combination of group discussion and practical exercises at the Training Centre's drying laboratory- and using the kilns, participants will gain an understanding of the principles underpinning timber drying and the various drying processes. 8-12 participants. Class based with practical exercises using TTC or site kilns.
Job Outcomes: On successful completion learners may be able to find employment as kiln operators.
Will be by demonstration of skills and answering related questions. Upon successful completion students will be issued with a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the unit(s) above.
