The Building Code of Australia requires all structural timber to be stress graded and branded according to the relevant Australian Standard. This course is based on Australian Standard 2858-2008 "Timber-Softwood-Visually stress graded for structural purposes" and successful completion will enable participants to meet this requirement for softwood timbers. 8 - 15 participants. Class based with practical exercises.
Job Outcomes: Successful completion of this course may lead to employment as a timber grader. This course may also be useful for building inspectors and specifiers.
Will be by demonstration of skills and answering related questions. Upon successful completion students will be issued with a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the unit(s) above.
